Challenge:
The Harvard Macy Institute works to inspire and promote change in all areas of health science education by facilitating cross-fertilization of ideas among healthcare educators. It’s a community-driven organization, but without a website, it wasn’t functioning as well as it could have. With a call to Firefly, that would soon change.
Solution:
Starting from scratch, Firefly built the Harvard Macy website to be an interactive digital hub for the vast network of medical educators. Firefly started by migrating the entire admissions process from an inefficient combination of paper and offline databases to the web, greatly improving the speed and efficiency with which the admission department could make acceptance decisions.
Firefly designed the member portion of the website to facilitate communication about projects, document sharing, member searches and surveys. It also hosts an event calendar, job listings and discussion forums for members. With the new website, the Harvard Macy Institute was better equipped to accomplish its mission of being a center of idea and information exchange on medical education for its members.
